The present invention relates to a minimally invasive method of performing annuloplasty. According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for performing a procedure on a mitral valve (728) of a heart includes inserting an implant (924) into a left ventricle and orienting the implant in the left ventricle substantially below the mitral valve. The implant (924) and tissue (970) around the mitral valve (728) are connected and tension is provided to the implant, in one embodiment, in order to substantially reduce an arc length associated with the mitral valve (728). In another embodiment, the implant (924) is inserted into the left ventricle through the aorta and the aortic valve.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé à invasion minimale permettant la réalisation d'une annuloplastie. Selon un aspect de l'invention, un procédé pour la réalisation sur une valvule mitrale (728) d'un coeur comporte l'introduction d'un implant (924) dans le ventricule gauche et l'orientation de l'implant dans le ventricule gauche sensiblement au-dessous de la valvule mitrale (728). L'implant (924) et le tissu (970) autour de la valvule mitrale (728) sont reliés et la tension de l'implant est obtenue, dans un mode de réalisation, afin de réduire sensiblement une longueur de l'arc associée à la valvule mitrale (728). Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'implant (924) est introduit dans le ventricule gauche à travers l'aorte et la valvule aortique.
