A wired and wireless communication method and apparatus for reducing a PAPR (Peak to Average Power Ratio) in an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system. A transmitter of the OFDM system designates, as a coset leader, a vector capable of minimizing a PAPR in a general standard array of (n, k) linear block codes and transmits a sequence having a minimum PAPR by adding each coset leader to an n-bit codeword corresponding to k-bit information and producing U (.iexcl.Â2n-k) number of vectors. Then, a receiver of the OFDM system can easily recover an original transmission signal using a syndrome of a received vector if the receiver identifies information of the syndrome and the coset leader.

L'invention concerne un procédé de communication à fil et sans fil et un appareil permettant de réduire un PAPR (rapport de valeur de crête sur valeur moyenne) dans un système MROF (Multiplexage par Répartition Orthogonale de la Fréquence). Un émetteur du système MROF désigne, comme en-tête de co-ensemble (coset leader), un vecteur capable de minimiser un PAPR dans un réseau général normalisé de (n, k) codes de blocs linéaires et il émet une séquence possédant un PAPR minimum par ajout de chaque en-tête de co-ensemble dans un mot codé à n-bit correspondant à des informations à k-bit et produisant un nombre U (.iexcl.Â2n-k) de vecteurs. Puis, un récepteur du système MROF peut facilement récupérer un signal d'émission original au moyen d'un syndrome d'un vecteur reçu si le récepteur identifie des informations du syndrome et de l'en-tête de co-ensemble.
