A phase modulated servo method and apparatus are provided for use in a disk file. The disk file includes at least one disk mounted for rotation about an axis and the disk has at least one disk surface for storing data. At a predefined location of the disk surface a series of servo tracks of a predetermined high gain servo pattern are written. The predetermined high gain servo pattern includes 360° phase difference information within each data cylinder. The servo tracks are detected for identifying servo phase information.
Une méthode et un dispositif d'asservissement à modulation de phase devant servir dans une unité de disque. L'unité de disque comporte au moins un disque monté de manière à tourner autour d'un axe et au moins une surface de ce disque est destinée au stockage de données. Sur un emplacement prédéterminé du disque est réalisée une série de pistes d'asservissement correspondant à un tracé prédéterminé d'asservissement à gain élevé. Ce tracé prédéterminé d'asservissement comporte de l'information de déphasage de 360 degrés dans chaque cylindre de données. Les pistes d'asservissement sont détectées afin d'identifier l'information de phase d'asservissement.
