An apparatus for planting seedlings includes a body having a ground working member for site preparation and forming a mound of soil into which a seedling is to be planted. A probe is provided for forming a hole in the mound of soil. A magazine is provided which holds a plurality of seedlings. A conduit is provided for delivering a seedling from the magazine into the hole formed by the probe. A soil compactor is provided for compacting soil around the hole after the seedling is planted in the hole.
