ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is a method and apparatus for the pneumatic production of yarn from fibres in a non-rotational stationary spinning chamber using a jet of air to cause the fibres to swirl around in a ring in the chamber, wherein the flow of air in the chamber is restricted to reduce or prevent the formation of a whirling core of air about the centre line of the chamber and to cause air to pass along the wall of the chamber. The invention permits the rate of yarn production to be increased.
