A modular patient care system (100) having a central management unit module, and one or more detachable functional units (104), is described. Using unique mechanical, and electrical features the modular patient care system is capable of flexibly, bilaterally, safely providing electrical power from the central management unit to the attached functional units with exposed power leads of end units being electrically isolated for safety, and security. Functional units are capable of detecting the presence of other functional units more distant from the central management unit for passing power to those units, and for otherwise electrically isolating exposed power leads when no further units are attached. The modular patient care system (100) provides for a modular connection arrangement wherein modules are detachably connected to each other in a convenient, flexible, interchangeable secured manner by providing a hinge connector pair, a specially located latch mechanims, and a guide means between any pair of modules.
L'invention concerne un système modulaire d'aide au patient (100), comprenant une unité de gestion centrale, ainsi qu'une ou plusieurs unités fonctionnelles amovibles (104). De par ses caractéristiques mécaniques et électriques, ce système modulaire d'aide au patient est capable de fournir de l'électricité de manière flexible, bilatérale, et sûre, depuis l'unité de gestion centrale jusqu'aux unités fonctionnelles connexes, les conducteurs d'alimentation exposés desdites unités terminales étant électriquement isolés, pour plus de sûreté et de sécurité. Ces unités fonctionnelles sont en outre capables de détecter la présence d'autres unités fonctionnelles plus éloignées de l'unité de gestion centrale, afin de passer du courant à ces unités, ou sinon d'isoler électriquement les conducteurs d'alimentation exposés lorsqu'aucune autre unité supplémentaire n'est raccordée au système. Ce système modulaire d'aide au patient (100) constitue un montage de branchement dont les différents modules sont raccordés de manière amovible les uns aux autres, de manière pratique, flexible, interchangeable, et sûre, grâce à un ensemble de deux raccords à charnière, un mécanisme de verrouillage convenablement disposé, et des organes de guidage placés entre deux modules.
