METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRECISELY ADJUSTING A CUT-OFF APPARATUS Abstract of the Disclosure An improved adjustment device for an apparatus for severing continuously advancing pipe. The severing apparatus typically has a reciprocal saw carriage movable parallel to the axis of the advancing pipe, a saw mounted on the movable carriage, and initiation means to activate the saw responsive to a predetermined length of fabricated pipe, engage the pipe with the blade of the saw, and sever the pipe into successive lengths. The adjustment device comprises a framework upon which the saw is pivotally mounted such that the saw blade can be arcuately repositioned and oriented in a plane which is other than parallel to the plane of the end of the pipe severed by the saw. Pivoting of the saw is controlled by an adjustment mechanism engaged through the saw carriage.
