An apparatus for preheating a work piece which includes a flexible elongated body having a first face and a second face. An electrical heating element is positioned within the body. A heat insulating material is positioned on the first face. A metallic heat transfer material is positioned on the second face. A thermostat is provided for maintaining the metallic heat transfer material at a constant temperature.
