A method and apparatus for accurately computing parallax information as captured by imagery of a scene. The method computes the parallax information of each point in an image by computting the parallax within windows that are offset with respect to the point for which the parallax is being computed. Additionally, parallax computations are performed over multiple frames of imagery to ensure accuracy of the parallax computation and to facilitate correction of occluded imagery.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de calculer de manière précise l'information de parallaxe telle qu'elle est saisie dans la représentation d'une scène. Ce procédé permet de calculer les données de parallaxe de chaque point d'une image au moyen d'un calcul de la parallaxe à l'intérieur de fenêtres qui sont décalées par rapport au points pour lequel la parallaxe est calculée. Les calculs de parallaxe sont en outre réalisés pour des images multiples afin de garantir la précision du calcul de parallaxe et de faciliter la correction des parties occultées.
