LE9-86-015 METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING KEYSTROKES Abstract of the Disclosure A method and apparatus for processing keystrokes, typically entered by an operator at a keyboard, in order to supply keystroke information to a printer and a display. The keystrokes are processed in a microcomputer system unit to provide keystroke information which is stored in a correction buffer for possible future change or correction, and in a display storage location, such as a video RAM. Substantially simultaneously with the processing of keystrokes for storage in the correction buffer and in the video RAM, keystrokes are also processed for storage of keystroke information in a microcomputer system unit printer buffer. The keystroke information in the buffer is subsequently supplied to a printer in a manner to avoid significantly slowing the processing of keystrokes for storage in the correction buffer and in the video RAM.
