Abstract In order to provide a method of producing a thin band of foamed detergent or soap which is suitable for mass production, the band is produced by agitating a detergent or soap mixture for a long time within a mixing chamber with the addition of air through a filter to form a basic, foamed, homogeneous mixture of desired viscosity, and the mixture is then fed to an extruder from which it is extruded as a thin band onto a circulating conveyor belt. The band is dried using hot or warm air blowers and is then lifted off the conveyor belt, is embossed by rolls and is made up into a roll.
