A method for producing at least one fiber skein, in particular for producing at least one filter skein for the production of filters for cigarettes and for other smokable rod-shaped articles, wherein at least one fiber strip, in particular a filter tow strip is drawn off of supply. The at least one drawn-off fiber strip is supplied to subsequent treatment, in which the fiber strip is, inter alia, stretched and fluffed, the at least one treated fiber strip is then collected in a formating unit to a fiber skein or to filter skeins, which lastly are provided with an enveloping material, to form one or more continuous, wrapped fiber skeins, in particular filter skeins, the fiber strip or strips being exposed at the beginning of the treatment to a brake force, to adjust the quantity to be processed and/or other properties of the fiber strip or strips, the brake force being set automatically. Particularly suitable apparatus for carrying out this method are also described. The invention permits higher productivity at equally good quality of the produced fiber skeins or filter skeins.
Méthode de production d'au moins une échevette de fibres, particulièrement pour produire au moins une échevette de filtres entrant dans la fabrication de filtres de cigarettes et d'autres articles à fumer en forme de bâtonnet. Au moins une bandelette de fibres, en particulier une bandelette d'étoupe de filtre, est soutirée pour être soumise à des traitements subséquents comme l'étirement et le duvetage. La bandelette de fibres traitée est ensuite recueillie dans une unité de formation d'échevettes de fibres ou d'échevettes de filtres. En dernier lieu, ces dernières sont recouvertes d'une enveloppe pour former une ou plusieurs échevettes de fibres continues enveloppées, particulièrement des échevettes de filtres. La ou les bandelettes de fibres sont exposées au début du traitement à la force d'un brisoir à réglage automatique, afin d'établir la quantité à traiter et/ou d'autres propriétés de la ou des bandelettes de fibres. Des appareils particulièrement adaptés pour appliquer cette méthode sont également décrits. La présente invention permet d'augmenter la productivité sans négliger la qualité des échevettes de fibres ou de filtres produites.
