A connector interface (68) provides direct connection from a wireless communication device to a coaxial connector. The wireless communication device has a housing with an antenna connector. The antenna connector has a hollow pseudo-cylindrical center providing an opening through the housing. The connector interface has a custom connector (66) comprised of an outer conductive shell (72), a nonconductive spacer (76) and a ground probe (78). The outer conductive shell (72) is mounted on the printed circuit board (70). The nonconductive spacer (76) is disposed within the hollow pseudo-cylindrical center of the outer conductive shell (72). When the connector interface is connected to the wireless communication device, the outer conductive shell (72) contacts the antenna connector and the ground probe extends through the opening into the housing to connect electrically to a ground potential within the housing.
On décrit une interface de connecteur (68) pour assurer une connexion directe d'un dispositif de communication sans fil à un connecteur coaxial. Le dispositif de communication sans fil comprend un boîtier muni d'une prise d'antenne. La prise d'antenne présente un centre creux pseudo-cylindrique comportant une ouverture à travers le boîtier. L'interface du connecteur est munie d'un connecteur à la demande (66) qui comprend une coquille conductrice extérieure (72), une butée d'espacement non conductrice (76) et une sonde de mise à la terre (78). La coquille conductrice extérieure (72) est montée sur la plaquette de circuits imprimés (70). La butée d'espacement non conductrice (76) est disposée à l'intérieur du centre creux pseudo-cylindrique de la coquille conductrice extérieure (72). Lorsque l'interface du connecteur est connectée au dispositif de communication sans fil, la coquille conductrice extérieure (72) vient au contact de la prise d'antenne et la sonde de mise à la terre s'étend à travers l'ouverture et pénètre dans le boîtier pour se raccorder électriquement à un potentiel de terre disposé à l'intérieur du boîtier.
