The invention is a system and method for disseminating information via a player tracking device of a gaming machine. In one embodiment, an information host generates information and transmits it to the player tracking device of a gaming machine over a communication link. The information is presented at the gaming machine via the player tracking device, such as a video display thereof. The information may comprise advertising, promotion, bonus, and multi- media information such as lights, sounds and images, either still images or video clips or streaming/continuous video, and may be presented independent of activities occurring at the gaming machine. In one embodiment, the information is transmitted over a communication link which forms a portion of a player tracking network including a player tracking host and the gaming machine.
La présente invention a trait à un système et un procédé permettant la diffusion d'une information via un dispositif de localisation de joueur d'un appareil de jeux. Dans un mode de réalisation, un hôte d'information génère une information et la transmet au dispositif de localisation de joueur d'un appareil de jeux sur un lien de communication. L'information est présentée au niveau de l'appareil de jeux via le dispositif de localisation de joueur, tel qu'un affichage vidéo de ce dernier. L'information peut contenir une publicité, une promotion, un bonification, et une information multimédia telle que des éclairages, des sons et des images, soit de images fixes ou des clips vidéo ou de la vidéo en temps réel/continu, et peut être présentée indépendamment des activités survenant au niveau de l'appareil de jeux. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'information est transmise sur un lien de communication qui fait partie d'un réseau de localisation de joueur comprenant un hôte de localisation de joueur et l'appareil de jeux.
