A method and apparatus for providing markings and a white background for the game of hockey on an ice rink, which includes multiple sheets. Each of the sheets is of a liquid impermeable material with perforations to allow liquid to pass through and sufficient flexibility as to be capable of being formed into rolls. A portion of markings for a hockey rink are marked on each of the applicable sheets. The sheets when laid in a selected overlapping mosaic configuration provide all markings for the game of hockey.
