A method for pyrolysis, characterized in that a material to be treated is heated to a temperature lower than the decomposition temperature of dioxins and the resulting gaseous components are cooled and liquefied; and an apparatus for practicing the method comprising a heating means (1) and a cooling and liquefying means (2) for the gaseous components formed by the above heating. The method can be employed for pyrolyzing a material to be treated with safety and at a lower cost as compared to a conventional method for pyrolysis.

Ce procédé de pyrolyse se caractérise par le fait que l'on chauffe le matériau à traiter à une température inférieure à la température de décomposition des dioxines et que les constituants gazeux qui sont obtenus sont refroidis et liquéfiés. L'invention a également trait à un appareil, permettant de mettre en oeuvre ce procédé, pourvu de moyens de chauffage (1) ainsi que de moyens de refroidissement et de liquéfaction (2) des constituants gazeux produits par chauffage. On peut employer ce procédé pour pyrolyser un matériau à traiter et ce, en toute sécurité et à un coût moins élevé que celui des procédés habituels de pyrolyse.
