Pacemakers have been known to be provided with a lower rate hysteresis mode in which a range of cardiac activity is supported in a hysteresis loop by a pacemaker. The present invention describes a programmable single or dual chamber pacemaker comprising a sensor device which provides signals indicating a level of cardiac activity. The pacemaker has a standard lower rate hysteresis mode available, but is also provided with a sensor rate hysteresis which may be programmable. The signals from the sensor can cause the pacemaker to operate within a hysteresis loop in which at least one of the A-sense Rate and V-sense Rate in the sensor rate hysteresis is higher than the similar rate in the lower rate hysteresis.

On connaît les stimulateurs cardiaques ayant un mode d'hystérèse à rythme plus lent dans lequel une plage d'activité cardiaque est supportée dans un cycle d'hystérèse par un stimulateur cardiaque. Cette invention concerne un stimulateur cardiaque programmable à une ou deux chambres comprenant un dispositif de sonde qui produit des signaux iniquant un niveau de l'activité cardiaque. Le stimulateur cardiaque dispose d'un mode d'hystérèse standard à rythme plus lent mais également d'une hystérèse du rythme de la sonde qui peut être programmable. Les signaux produits par la sonde peuvent faire fonctionner le stimulateur cardiaque dans un cycle d'hystérèse dans lequel le débit détecté A et/ou le débit détecté V dans l'hystérèse du rythme de la sonde est/sont plus rapide(s) que le rythme similaire dans l'hystérèse à rythme plus lent.
