The object of the invention is to provide a method and apparatus for reclaiming refrigerants which includes a refrigerant boiler (6) having a refrigerant inlet (1) for admitting contaminated refrigerant into the boiler (6). The suction inlet of compressor (23) is connected to the vapor outlet of boiler (6) for lowering the pressure and temperature in the boiler (6) which draws the refri- gerant into the boiler (6) from the refrigerant inlet (1) and causes the refrigerant to vaporize and separate from most of the con- taminates contained therein. A condenser (28) is connected to the outlet of compressor (23) for receiving a heated compressed ref- rigerant vapor and the condenser (28) is positioned in a heat exchange relationship with the boiler (6) for heating it and also cooling the heated compressed vapor from the compressor (23) to a condensed liquid. A sump (42) is connected to the condenser (28) for receiving the condensed liquids for reuse.
