The present invention relates to method and apparatus for reconfiguring a MAC entity of a MAC layer of the apparatus receiving protocol data units from a mobile terminal via an uplink channel upon reconfiguration of the uplink channel. Further, the invention relates to methods and mobile terminals for triggering the transmission of a status report from at least one RLC entity configured for an uplink channel of a network element in a radio access network of a mobile communication system, as well as a method and terminal for configuring the MAC layer of the mobile terminal. In order to enable an efficient and fast generation of RLC status reports after an uplink channel reconfiguration the present invention suggests new mechanism to trigger the transmission of status reports upon uplink reconfiguration as well a new operation and configuration of radio access network elements and UEs upon uplink channel reconfiguration, in particular a transmission time interval (TTI) reconfiguration.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de reconfigurer une entité MAC d'une couche MAC dudit appareil afin de recevoir des unités de données de protocole provenant d'un terminal mobile via un canal de liaison montante lors de la reconfiguration dudit canal de liaison montante. L'invention concerne également des procédés et des terminaux mobiles permettant de déclencher la transmission d'un compte-rendu d'état provenant d'au moins une entité RLC configurée pour un canal de liaison montante d'élément de réseau dans un réseau d'accès radio d'un système de communications mobile ainsi qu'un procédé et un terminal permettant de configurer la couche MAC du terminal mobile. Afin de permettre la génération rapide et efficace des comptes-rendus d'état RLC après une reconfiguration de canal de liaison montante, l'invention suggère un nouveau mécanisme pour déclencher la transmission de comptes-rendus d'état lors d'une reconfiguration de liaison montante ainsi qu'un nouveau fonctionnement et une nouvelle configuration d'éléments de réseau d'accès radio et d'équipements utilisateur lors d'une reconfiguration de canal de liaison montante, en particulier, une reconfiguration d'intervalle de temps de transmission (TTI).
