ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for recovery of waste heat are provided herein. A working fluid is delivered to a first branch in the system. The working fluid in that first branch is then evaporated in an evaporator means by means of a waste energy source to increase the energy of the evaporated working fluid in the first branch. The working fluid is received on a conduit and is delivered from the conduit and is delivered to an evaporator means, where the evaporated working fluid is then compressed in evaporator means. The compressed working fluid is then desuperheated in desuperheating means for desuperheating working fluid compressed by the first compressor means for delivering working fluid in the vapor phase to a second compressor means where the initial desuperheated working fluid is compressed. That compressed working fluid is condensed in condenser means which receives the compressed working fluid from the second compressor means and which receives a second working fluid by transferring energy from the first-mentioned working fluid to the second working fluid whose energy is significantly increased. That condenser means thus condenses the first-mentioned working fluid to the second working fluid. The condensed first working fluid is delivered to desupercooling means in order to utilize the last- mentioned condensed working fluid to desuperheat the compressed working fluid.
