This invention relates to a method and apparatus for reducing adjacent channel power in wireless communication systems. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a system for digitally and adaptively pre-distorting a signal that includes applying a correction to the signal before it is applied to the input of an amplifier such that the correction is equal and opposite to anticipated distortion produced by the amplifier. Thus, the correction and the amplifier distortion cancel one another resulting in a system with an overall linear transfer characteristic. In these circumstances, the adjacent channel power is desirably reduced.
L'invention concerne une méthode et un appareil permettant de réduire la puissance d'un canal adjacent dans des systèmes de communication sans fil. Plus précisément, la présente invention se rapporte à un système permettant la prédistorsion numérique et adaptative d'un signal, ce qui comprend l'application d'une correction au signal avant sa transmission à l'entrée d'un amplificateur, de telle sorte que la correction est égale et opposée à la distorsion anticipée produite par l'amplificateur. Ainsi, la correction et la distorsion de l'amplificateur s'annulent mutuellement, ce qui se traduit par un système d'une caractéristique de transfert globale linéaire. En ces circonstances, la puissance du canal adjacent est réduite de la manière souhaitée.
