ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for reducing effective electrical power consumption for public utility customer electrical loads ranging from light commercial to residential, utilizing an "effective power reducer" device interposed between the customer watt-hour meter and load, which device acts to reduce the customer load current as seen by the meter, thus, reducing the power measured by the meter; thereby reducing the customer's power bill, while at the same time reducing the apparent power requirement of the power company and thereby reducing the power company requirement for capital expenditure for generating capacity.
