A method and device (157) for reducing mitral regurgitation. An elongated body is positioned in a coronary sinus of a patient in a vicinity of a heart mitral valve posterior leaflet (39). The body is adapted to straighten a natural curvature of at least a portion of the coronary sinus in the vicinity of the posterior leaflet to move a posterior annulus (33) anteriorly, which in turn moves the posterior leaflet (39) anteriorly, thereby to improve leaflet coaptation.

L'invention concerne une méthode et un dispositif permettant de réduire la régurgitation mitrale. Un corps allongé est positionné dans un sinus coronaire d'un patient au voisinage d'un feuillet postérieur valvulaire du coeur. Ce corps est conçu pour redresser une courbure naturelle d'une partie au moins du sinus coronaire au voisinage de la valvule postérieure de façon à déplacer un anneau postérieur vers l'avant, lequel déplace à son tour la valvule postérieure vers l'avant, d'où une amélioration de la coaptation de la valvule.
