A method for reformation of self-oxidation and internal heating type, characterized in that a cylindrical catalyst member having a number of passages in the direction of its axis which contains a reforming catalyst, a shift reaction catalyst and an oxidation catalyst is provided, a mixed gas containing a hydrocarbon or an aliphatic alcohol and steam is allowed to pass through the catalyst member reciprocatingly, taking about a half of its cross section as forward passages and another half thereof as backward passages, while rotating the member, to thereby carry out a reforming reaction and a shift reaction and recover a hydrogen gas during one reciprocating passing, and an oxygen-containing gas is introduced into the member at the forward and/or backward passage; and an apparatus for practicing the method. The method can be used for reforming a hydrocarbon or an aliphatic alcohol with good heat efficiency.
L'invention concerne un procédé de reformage du type à auto-oxydation et chauffage interne, caractérisé en ce qu'un élément catalyseur cylindrique doté d'un certain nombre de passages dans le sens de son axe, lequel contient un catalyseur de reformage, un catalyseur de conversion catalytique et un catalyseur d'oxydation, est prévu, un gaz mélangé contenant un hydrocarbure ou un alcool aliphatique et de la vapeur passent à travers l'élément catalyseur en un va-et-vient, prenant environ une moitié de sa coupe transversale comme passages avant et une autre moitié de celle-ci comme passages arrière, tout en faisant tourner l'élément, afin d'exécuter ainsi une réaction de reformage et une conversion catalytique, et afin de récupérer un gaz hydrogène pendant un passage à va-et-vient, et un gaz contenant de l'oxygène est introduit dans l'élément au niveau du passage avant et/ou arrière; ainsi qu'un appareil de mise en pratique du procédé. Le procédé peut être utilisé pour le reformage d'un hydrocarbure ou d'un alcool aliphatique avec un bon rendement thermique.
