ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The gaseous tritium (T2) resulting in some nuclear and plasma-physical experiments and work and which disadvantage- ously gets into the atmosphere of a work area is combined and thereby effectively eliminated by means of a hydrogenating reaction. Preferably unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds are used for the hydrogenation, for example unsaturated monocarboxylic acids such as linoleic acid and linolenic acid.
