Aspects of the invention relate to apparatus and methods for remedial and repair operations downhole. Certain embodiments of apparatus include a lightweight expandable member that can be radially expanded to increased its inner and outer diameters using an inflatable element. The lightweight member can be used to repair a faulty safety valve flapper for example. The invention also relates to lateral tubular adapter apparatus and a method of hanging a lateral from a cased borehole.

Selon certains modes de réalisation du présent appareil, on trouve un membre extensible léger (22) pouvant s'étendre radialement afin d'augmenter ses diamètres internes et externes au moyen d'un élément gonflable (34). Le membre léger (22) peut servir à réparer un clapet de soupape de sécurité défaillant (12) par exemple. L'invention concerne également un appareil d'adaptation tubulaire latérale et un procédé de suspension d'une conduite secondaire à partir d'un orifice de puits encloisonné.
