A method for repairing an abnormality in the wall of a body lumen, the method comprising: isolating the abnormality in the wall of the body lumen from flow in the body lumen; positioning flowable forming material adjacent to the abnormality in the wall of the body lumen; and transforming the flowable forming material into a substantially stationary state so as to repair the abnormality in the wall of the body lumen. Apparatus for repairing an abnormality in the wall of a body lumen, the apparatus comprising: a supply of flowable forming material; zone isolation apparatus for isolating the abnormality in the wall of the body lumen from flow in the body lumen; and positioning apparatus for positioning the flowable forming material adjacent to the abnormality in the wall of the body lumen so as to repair the abnormality in the wall of the body lumen.
Le procédé ci-décrit permet de réparer une anomalie dans la paroi d'une lumière corporelle, le procédé comprenant : l'isolation de l'anomalie dans la paroi de la lumière corporelle par rapport au flux circulant dans ladite lumière corporelle ; le positionnement de la matière à former douée d'écoulement à proximité de l'anomalie dans la paroi de la lumière corporelle ; et la transformation de la matière à former douée d'écoulement en un état essentiellement fixe de manière à réparer l'anomalie dans la paroi de la lumière corporelle. Cette invention concerne également un appareil pour réparer une anomalie dans la paroi d'une lumière corporelle, ledit appareil comprenant : une source de matière à former douée d'écoulement ; un appareil d'isolation de zone pour isoler l'anomalie dans la paroi de la lumière corporelle par rapport au flux circulant dans ladite lumière corporelle ; et un appareil de positionnement pour positionner la matière à former douée d'écoulement à proximité de l'anomalie dans la paroi de la lumière corporelle de manière à réparer l'anomalie dans la paroi de la lumière corporelle.
