A method and apparatus (10) is provided for the forma- tion of a tablet (21) from tableting feedstock (20). An elongate die is provided which has a cavity (16) defined by an inner wall (18). A pair of die punches (22, 24) are insertably positioned within the cavity. The die punches include opposed facing sur- faces (30) for supporting therebetween tableting feedstock. The die punch are relatively movable within the cavity to a tablet forming position to compress the feedstock into a tablet. The tablet forming positions defined by the facing die punch sur- faces are spaced apart a sufficient distance so as to maintain the formed tablet in contact with the inner wall of the cavity so as to retain the tablet within the cavity upon removal of the die punches.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif (10) de formation d'un comprimé (21) à partir de matière première de comprimés (20). En l'occurrence, une matrice de forme allongée présente une cavité (16) définie par une paroi interne (18), un couple d'emporte-pièce (22, 24) étant inséré à l'intérieur de la cavité. Ces emporte-pièce, qui présentent des surfaces (30) en vis-à-vis permettant d'enserrer la matière première de comprimés, sont mobiles l'un par rapport à l'autre à l'intérieur de la cavité jusqu'à une position de formation de comprimé selon laquelle la matière première subit une compression pour constituer un comprimé. Les positions de formation de comprimé définies par les surfaces en vis-à-vis des emporte-pièce gardent entre elles un écart suffisant pour laisser le comprimé en contact avec la paroi interne de la cavité, ce qui fait que le comprimé reste à l'intérieur de la cavité après retrait des emporte-pièce.
