ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to current sources, and in particular, to a method of sealing current source of a cylin- drical shape preferably with an alkali electrolyte, and to a device for use in the method. The method can be achieved by a device for sealing electric power sources of cylindrical shape, wherein said power source comprises a steel cell jar with a cylin- drical shaped side surface and bottom, a sealing gasket of a plas- tic electrically insulating material and a metal cover resting upon a current tap comprising a rolling die including an outer die and a coaxial inner die, a hold-down member arranged to set the plane of an end face of the cell cover normally to the axis of said cell and to press it against said central tap, a support to set and support said cell during sealing, said support includ- ing a cylindrical socket and a ring projection, said outer die having two cone portions, one of which is positioned at the end face of said outer die behind its starting portion and forms an angle at the cone vertex of 10?5° and another angle at the cone vertex of 60?5°, and said inner die having a cone portion that forms an angle of 140?10° at the vertex.
