A method and system for determining a secondary mileage estimate for a vehicle is disclosed. The method includes measuring a travel speed of the vehicle over a period of time; integrating the current speed over said period of time to generate a secondary mileage estimate; and at least one of storing said secondary mileage estimate or transmitting said secondary mileage estimate to a server.

Cette invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de déterminer une estimation de kilométrage secondaire pour un véhicule. Le procédé consiste à mesurer une vitesse de déplacement du véhicule sur une certaine durée; à intégrer la vitesse courante sur cette durée pour générer une estimation de kilométrage secondaire; et à stocker cette estimation de kilométrage secondaire et/ou à envoyer cette estimation de kilométrage secondaire à un serveur.
