The present invention relates to a method for secured facsimile transmission of a document, comprising the steps of generating at least one image of said document (step a)), reading the pixels of said at least one image into a series of blocks of predetermined size (step b)), converting said series of blocks into a character string based on a conversion table (step c)), encrypting said character string to create an encrypted character string (step d)), compressing said encrypted character string to create a scram- bled image (step e)), and transmitting said scrambled image (step f)), wherein an option between a standard encryption mode and an optimized encryption mode is provided, wherein in the standard encryption mode in step a) one image is generated from the entire document and in the optimized encryption mode in step a) a series of images is generated, each image corresponding to one line of the document, in step b) the pixels of each image of said series of images are read into a series of blocks of predetermined size, in step c) said series of blocks corresponding to each image are each converted into a character string, resulting in one character string per image, and in step d) only character strings corresponding to images with at least one non- white pixel are encrypted. The present invention relates further to an apparatus for performing the method of the invention.
La présente invention porte sur un procédé permettant une transmission sécurisée de télécopies d'un document, lequel procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : la génération d'au moins une image dudit document (étape a)) ; la lecture des pixels de ladite ou desdites images en une série de blocs ayant une taille prédéterminée (étape b)) ; la conversion de ladite série de blocs en une chaîne de caractères sur la base d'une table de conversion (étape c)) ; le cryptage de ladite chaîne de caractères pour créer une chaîne de caractères cryptée (étape d)) ; la compression de ladite chaîne de caractères cryptée pour créer une image brouillée (étape e)) ; et la transmission de ladite image brouillée (étape f)), une option entre un mode de cryptage standard et un mode de cryptage optimisé étant proposée. Dans le mode de cryptage standard, à l'étape a), une image est générée à partir de tout le document et dans le mode de cryptage optimisé, à l'étape a), une série d'images est générée, chaque image correspondant à une ligne du document, à l'étape b), les pixels de chaque image de ladite série d'images sont lus en une série de blocs ayant une taille prédéterminée, à l'étape c), les blocs de ladite série de blocs correspondant à chaque image sont chacun convertis en une chaîne de caractères, ce qui permet d'obtenir une chaîne de caractères par image, et à l'étape d) seules les chaînes de caractères correspondant aux images avec au moins un pixel non blanc sont cryptées. La présente invention porte en outre sur un appareil permettant d'effectuer le procédé de l'invention.
