The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for performing a location update of a user equipment in a mobile network, wherein it is decided on the basis of the result of a negotiation with an old location register whether to use an identification information obtained from the old location register or to retrieve the identification information from a user database. Accordingly, whenever a fall-back to a protocol version not supporting the required identification information is determined, the identification information is retrieved from the user database, to thereby guarantee that the correct identification information is used in the new location register. The identification information may comprise security or authentication parameters.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil destinés à exécuter une actualisation de localisation du matériel d'un utilisateur dans un réseau mobile, dans lesquels il est décidé, sur la base du résultat d'une négociation avec un enregistreur de localisation ancien, d'utiliser une information d'identification obtenue auprès de l'enregistreur de localisation ancien, ou d'extraire les informations d'identification d'une base de données d'utilisateur. Par conséquent, lorsqu'une reprise sur une version de protocole ne prenant pas en charge les informations d'identification requises est déterminée, les informations d'identification sont extraites de la base de données de l'utilisateur, pour garantir ainsi que les informations d'identification correctes sont utilisées dans le nouvel enregistreur de localisation. Les informations d'identification peuvent contenir des paramètres de sécurité ou d'authentification.
