A spatial filtering method and apparatus (10, 12) which is particularly useful for addressing the problem of pulsation motion in intravascular ultrasound imaging, but may also be applied to imaging systems in other environments. According to a specific embodiment, the present invention provides a method and related apparatus for determining relative motion (rotation, pulsation, or in-plane translation and/or a combination thereof) in orthogonal r-.theta. memory space, prior to scan conversion, between a first and second image frame, and displaying an accurate image and/or performing pre-scan conversion image stabilization of the image.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de filtrage spatial (10, 12) particulièrement utile pour résoudre le problème du mouvement créés par les pulsations lors d'une échographie intravasculaire, mais qui peut également être appliqué à des systèmes d'imagerie dans d'autres environnements. Selon un mode de réalisation spécifique, la présente invention porte sur un procédé et son appareil associé permettant de déterminer le mouvement relatif (rotation, pulsation, ou translation dans le plan et/ou combinaison de ces mouvements) dans un espace mémoire r-.theta. orthogonal, avant la conversion de balayage, entre une première et une seconde images, et d'afficher une image nette et/ou réaliser une stabilisation de l'image par conversion de pré-balayage.
