A method and apparatus for stabilizing an extension ladder includes a body having spaced apart ladder confining projections that project outwardly from the body. The body is secured to an edge of a roof. When a top portion of a ladder is positioned between the ladder confining projections, lateral movement of the top portion of the ladder is limited by the ladder confining projections.
