A method and apparatus for stacking preforms for blow molded containers (10) wherein the preforms are generally tubular in shape having a closed end (22) and a threaded end (16). The preforms are arranged so that they are in an array of predetermined size and shape. The preforms in the array are arranged in a plurality of side-by-side horizontally extending rows in which the preforms are upright and in a "threads down" orientation. The remaining rows are then picked up and positioned in an alternating relationship with the "threads down" rows of preforms, so that multiple layers of preforms can be stacked in a container so as to fully use all of the space in the container for storage and transfer of the preforms.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé et un dispositif permettant d'empiler des préformes pour récipients moulés par soufflage (10), les préformes ayant généralement une forme tubulaire, une extrémité fermée (22) et une extrémité filetée (16). On aligne les préformes selon une disposition de taille et de forme prédéterminées. Dans cette structure d'alignement, les préformes sont disposées selon une pluralité de rangées juxtaposées qui s'étendent horizontalement, à l'intérieur desquelles les préformes sont en position verticale, "filetage orienté vers le bas". Dans les rangées restantes, on dispose les préformes en position inversée et alternée par rapport à celle des rangées où les préformes sont orientées "filetage vers le bas", de manière à pouvoir empiler plusieurs couches de préformes dans un conteneur et, partant, à utiliser pleinement l'espace dudit conteneur pour le stockage et le transfert des préformes.
