An apparatus and methods for utilizing a stand-alone Voice over Internet Protocol (VolP) telephone with traditional plain old telephone service (POTS) telephone support is disclosed. A stand-alone VolP telephone with an analog telephone adaptor supporting a plurality of external analog telephone sets and a digital Internet protocol (IP) interface to support VolP voice data communication over a data channel is presented. The VolP telephone is used to establish VolP service line data connections between a VolP telephone and a data switch to an IP network. The VolP telephone receives an analog telephone signal from an external analog telephone and establishes a voice connection between the external analog telephone and the VolP telephone.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et des procédés permettant d'utiliser un téléphone à fonctionnalité voix sur protocole Internet (VoIP) autonome avec un service téléphonique traditionnel. L'invention concerne plus précisément un téléphone VoIP autonome comprenant, d'une part, un adaptateur de téléphone analogique, pouvant prendre en charge une pluralité de postes de téléphone analogiques externes et, d'autre part, une interface de protocole Internet (IP) numérique, pouvant prendre en charge les communications de données vocales VoIP sur un canal de données. Ce téléphone VoIP est utilisé pour transmettre des données de ligne de service VoIP vers un commutateur de données et un réseau IP. Le téléphone VoIP est conçu pour recevoir un signal téléphonique analogique provenant d'un téléphone analogique externe et pour établir une connexion vocale entre le téléphone analogique externe et le téléphone VoIP.
