ABSTRACT An apparatus and method for straightening of particularly heavy, H-shaped girder sections between vertically mobile tools disposed above and below the straightening guide line, if the girder flanges are rolled, is disclosed. A set of straightening rollers 1, 101, 201, for straightening rolling can have rollers 8, 9, 13 to 16 of differently roller body lengths 11, 17. The different body length rollers are adjusted against the flanges 3 of the girder section 2. The apparatus and method permits straightening of specially heavy, bulky, H-shaped girder sections in continuous operation.
