A method of stranding elongated elements into a strand of reverse twists according to the invention is based on that, that a bundle of elements is inserted into a winding flyer (7), producing the first twist in the bundle and winding the bundle on a drum (9) which acts as an accumulator. Simultaneously, the bundle is unwound from the drum (9) by means of an unwinding flyer (13), producing the second twist in the bundle. Next, the bundle is pulled out of the unwinding flyer (13). Both flyers (7, 13) and the drum (9) have a common axis (O) of rotation and rotate in the same direction. A repeating period of stranding the bundle of elements consists of at least two successive phases of twisting. A length of the bundle twisted in one phase by the winding flyer (7) is next twisted in another phase by the unwinding flyer (13). The strand of the bundle is an algebraic sum of successive twists produced in particular phases of twisting. It is advantageous if the twisting as above is repeated.
Un procédé de toronnage d'éléments allongés en un toron à torsions en S selon l'invention consiste à introduire un faisceau d'éléments dans une ailette d'enroulement (7), à produire la première torsion dans le faisceau et à enrouler ce dernier sur un cylindre (9) qui fonctionne comme un accumulateur. Le faisceau est simultanément déroulé du cylindre (9) par l'intermédiaire d'une ailette de déroulement (13), ce qui permet de produire la seconde torsion du faisceau. Ce dernier est ensuite enlevé de l'ailette de déroulement (13). Les deux ailettes (7, 13) et le cylindre (9) présentant un axe de rotation commun (O) et tournent dans la même direction. Une période de répétition du toronnage du faisceau comprend au moins deux phases de toronnage successives. Une longueur du faisceau, tordue au cours d'une phase par l'ailette d'enroulement (7) est ensuite tordue au cours d'une second phase par l'ailette de déroulement (13). Le toron du faisceau réprésente une somme algébrique de torsions successives produites au cours de phases de torsion particulières. Le processus de torsion décrit ci-dessus peut avantageusement être répété.
