An apparatus for withdrawing a tube containing sandwich fixings from an opening in a bread bun while preventing the sandwich fixings from exiting the bread bun includes a cradle with a longitudinal axis configured to receive the bread bun with the tube containing sandwich fixings therein. A tube gripper gasps the tube when the bread bun is in the cradle. The tube gripper can include a boss sized to fit the bore of the tube and a pinch member for securing an end of the tube to the boss. An elongated rod extends through the boss and associates with a stopper that is disposed at an end of the rod. The stopper is positionable at the opening in the bread bun and at the end of the tube. The tube gripper and the cradle are displaceable with respect to the stopper along the longitudinal axis to withdraw the tube from the bread bun.
