Light having one or more therapeutic wavelengths is applied to a patient's blood while that blood remains in the body. The UV light is applied sublingually. A shell having a cold cathode fluorescent bulb is inserted under a patient's tongue to irradiate the mucus membrane and provide the UV light to the blood.

L'invention concerne une lumière présentant au moins une longueur d'onde thérapeutique. Cette lumière est appliquée sur le sang d'un patient pendant que le sang reste dans le corps du patient. Cette lumière ultraviolette est appliquée de manière sublinguale.
