A liquid coolant with bubbles contained therein for use in carrying out a cutting or grinding operation is continuously supplied to a portion to be worked, and the omnidirectional scatter of the bubbles impinging and bursting upon this portion and the entry of the accelerated splash into a clearance between the pressure contacting surfaces of a cutting tool and a work are promoted with the bubbles in the liquid coolant, which did not reach the portion to be worked, or which reached the portion but passed the same to enter a recovery flow passage, deposited on suspended extraneous matter in the liquid coolant, whereby the flotation of such extraneous matter is promoted. The liquid coolant is discharged downward as an aggregation of particulate turbulent currents and generally as a helical current, whereby a cylindrical veil of liquid coolant which encloses a milling tool or a grinder, and which reaches at its lower end the surface of the work, is formed, at least a part of this helical current being directed vortically from the lower end of the cylindrical veil toward the central portion of the helical current along the surface of the work and thereby supplied to the portion to be worked which contacts the milling tool or grinder.

Un réfrigérant liquide contenant des bulles, utilisé lors d'opérations de coupe ou de meulage, est amené en continu vers la partie de la pièce travaillée, et la diffusion omnidirectionnelle des bulles projetées sur cette partie, de même que l'entrée accélérée du liquide dans un espace ménagé entre les surfaces en contact sous pression d'un outil de coupe et de la pièce sont facilitées par l'existence même de ces bulles. Sans elles, ce réfrigérant n'atteignait pas la partie de pièce à travailler, ou bien il l'atteignait mais se dirigeait immédiatement vers un conduit de récupération en entraînant des corps étrangers déposés qui venaient ensuite flotter à sa surface. Ce réfrigérant liquide est maintenant évacué vers le bas par un courant turbulent hélicoïdal qui abrège de telles particules et forme un voile cylindrique tournant autour de l'outil utilisé et dont le bas atteint la surface de la pièce. A moins une partie de ce courant hélicoïdal forme un vortex entre l'extrémité inférieure du voile cylindrique et le centre du courant, le long de la surface de la pièce, et elle arrive ainsi à la partie travaillée, qui est en contact avec l'outil utilisé.
