A support device adapted to support mussels in an aquatic mussel harvesting operation. Typically, there is a mesh tubing which is suspended from an upper support, and seed mussels are placed in the tubing and lowered into the sea to enable the mussels to grow. There is a plurality of support devices connected to the mesh tubing at vertically-spaced locations. Each device has a support plate with an opening to receive the mesh tubing and a connecting member with locking teeth that extends through the mesh tubing. As the mussels grow, these are supported by each plate at the spaced vertical intervals.
