A method for assigning access information for a teleconference to a group of conferees comprises assigning a conference I.D. number to the group of conferees (21), and dividing the conference I.D. number into a first portion and a second portion (23). An input sequence is derived from the first portion of the conference I.D. number and assigned to the group of conferees (25). A PIN is derived from the second portion of the conference I.D. number and assigned to each conferee of the group of conferees (27). Assign access information to conferees based on the combination of input sequence and PIN (29).
