A method and an apparatus for producing a shaped article or molding which includes a plant material and a thermoplastic material, both of which are introduced into an extruder. The plant material is compacted under pressure in a first extruder section and heated together with the thermoplastic material to a predefined temperature at which the thermoplastic material melts. The pressure is then reduced to a value at which residual moisture of the heated material is transformed into water vapor or steam, which is removed from the extruder. The heated, dehumidified material is then compacted and extruded to the desired molding.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire un corps moulé constitué en majeure partie de copeaux de bois et d'un matériau thermoplastique. Les copeaux de bois (5) sont acheminés à l'état brut à une extrudeuse, dans laquelle le matériau thermoplastique est introduit à l'état solide. Les copeaux de bois (5) sont compactés sous pression dans une première partie d'extrudeuse (26) et chauffés avec le matériau thermoplastique à une température à laquelle le matériau thermoplastique fond. La pression est ensuite réduite à une valeur à laquelle une humidité résiduelle des copeaux de bois chauffés (5) est convertie en vapeur d'eau qui est ensuite évacuée de l'extrudeuse. Les copeaux de bois (5) chauffés et déshydratés sont compactés avec le matériau thermoplastique fondu, et mélangés à ce dernier pour former une matière extrudable homogénéisée qui est ensuite extrudée pour former le corps moulé souhaité.
