A method and an apparatus for detecting plugged sites and holes and for measuring of the water permeability properties of pervious machine fabrics is disclosed. Plugged sites in a permeable fabric are detected by sensing water pressure pulses occurring in the nozzle at the moment when a stream of water flowing through the nozzle contacts a plugged site on a fast running fabric. The apparatus can be used on-line to simultaneously detect plugged sites and holes on a moving pervious fabric while monitoring its water permeability properties.
L'invention porte sur un procédé et un appareil servant à détecter les sites colmatés et les perforations et mesurer les caractéristiques de perméabilité des toiles perméables des machines à papier. La détection des sites colmatés d'une toile perméable s'effectue en mesurant des impulsions de pression d'eau se produisant dans la buse lorsque le courant d'eau s'écoulant de la buse entre en contact avec un site colmaté sur une toile défilant à grande vitesse. L'appareil peut s'utiliser en ligne et détecter simultanément les colmatages et les perforations sur une toile en mouvement tout en surveillant ses caractéristiques de perméabilité.
