An apparatus and method for processing multiple cell streams of differing service categories at a queuing point in an ATM network. The apparatus includes two or more cell processors for monitoring bi-directional ABR traffic at each queuing point in order to efficiently calculate and mark explicit rate values and/or congestion information in resource management cells in either VSVD or non-VSVD ABR traffic.
Appareil et méthode de traitement de multiples trains de cellules de différentes catégories de services à un point de mise en file d'attente dans un réseau ATM. L'appareil comprend deux processeurs de cellules ou plus pour le contrôle du trafic ABR bidirectionnel à chaque point de mise en file d'attente afin de calculer efficacement et de marquer des données d'encombrement et (ou) des valeurs de débit explicites dans des cellules de gestion de ressources pour le trafic ABR VSVD ou non VSVD.
