A process for the manufacture of polyurethane foam comprising the steps of (i) mixing at a reaction index of 40 to 400: (a) a polyisocyanate blend comprising at least one polyisocyanate and optionally, additives and fillers; (b) a polyol blend comprising isocyanate reactive components and optionally, water, additional blowing agents, catalysts, surfactants, fillers and other additives; wherein either or both said polyisocyanate blend or said polyol blend contain between 0.3 to about 20 wt.% CO2 based on the total weight of said polyisocyanate blend and said polyol blend; (ii) introducing and uniformly mixing in liquid form of CO2 as a blowing agent into either or both said polyisocyanate blend or said polyol blend and maintaining said CO2 in said liquid form. The present invention also relates to an apparatus, which performs the above-mentioned process.
Méthode pour la production de mousse de polyuréthane, consistant (i) à mélanger, avec un indice réactionnel de 40 à 400, (a) un mélange à base de polyisocyanate, renfermant au moins un polyisocyanate et, facultativement, des additifs et des charges, (b) un mélange à base de polyol, renfermant des constituants réactifs avec les isocyanates et, facultativement, de l'eau, des gonflants supplémentaires, des catalyseurs, des tensioactifs, des charges et d'autres additifs; le mélange au polyisocyanate et (ou) celui au polyol renferme(nt) entre 0,3 et 20 % environ en poids de CO2, pourcentage basé sur le poids total dudit mélange de polyisocyanate et dudit mélange de polyol, (ii) à introduire et à mélanger uniformément dans le mélange au polyisocyanate et (ou) dans le mélange au polyol un gonflant au CO2 à l'état liquide, et à maintenir ledit CO2 à l'état liquide. La présente invention porte également sur un appareil pour mettre en oeuvre le procédé ci-dessus.
