A method for tipping surgical sutures which includes winding at least one suture around a means for holding the suture, the suture holding means including means to delimit at least one selected portion of the suture, generating a mist of tipping agent, wherein the tipping agent comprises a monomeric cyanoacrylate and passing only the selected portion of the suture through the mist of tipping agent to apply the tipping agent to said selected portion.

L'invention porte sur un procédé permettant de traiter l'extrémité d'un fil de suture chirurgical. Au moins un fil de suture est embobiné autour d'une structure retenant le fil de suture. Cette structure sur laquelle est enroulé le fil comprend un dispositif permettant de circonscrire au moins une section définie du fil, de pulvériser un agent traitant l'extrémité du fil, lequel contient un cyanoacrylate monomère, et de passer seulement la section définie du fil à travers le jet de vaporisation afin d'appliquer l'agent traitant l'extrémité du fil à ladite section.
