ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A digital data transfer system for performing a transfer of data between a personal computer and an audio cassette tape recorder, wherein a modulation circuit for producing signals to be recorded in the recorder comprises a clock generator, a ternary counter, a binary counter, a delay circuit, an AND gate and an exclusive-OR gate, while a demodulation circuit for supplying signals read out from the recorder, to the personal computer comprises a rising edge detecting circuit, a falling edge detecting circuit, an OR gate, a gate pulse generator, an AND gate, a binary counter, a exclusive-OR gate, a delay circuit, and a P-type flip-flop.
