ABSTRACT Disclosed is a process for the transmission of data with a mod- ulated carrier via a two-wire line from a first station to a remote station and vice versa. The modulated carrier is split into two orthogonal signal components and as a result of correlation with a difference signal supplied to the receiver, a first and second regulating signal is produced. The first and second regulating signal each regulate a base band simulation stage, whose output signals - taking into account the two orthogonal signal com- ponents - form the components of a compensation signal which is used to sup- press a cross-talk signal.
